Awesome, scary movie. I loved it. Don’t see it if you’re one of those delusional people that thinks every movie is over-the-top nonstop action. This one slowly builds up the plot and involves quite a bit of exposition to get all of the backstory in there.
I strongly believe that, if possible, one should “acquire” a digital copy of the movie and watch it first by themself in the dark. That will give you the absolute best experience with Paranormal Activity, as it’s not the type of movie that is best viewed in the busy, interrupting atmosphere of a local movie theater.
Everyone should also take into consideration that this movie was filmed by a first-time director, in his own house, in a week, with virtually unknown actors, and under a $15,000 budget. Steven Spielberg green-lit the movie and even altered the ending. Personally, I think one of the two alternate endings would’ve made it better.
Anyway, I thought Paranormal Activity was an awesome film and recommend everyone see it if you think you can appreciate it without viewing it through the jaded eyes of today’s stereotypical moviegoer. Again, if you can, try to get a copy of the movie and watch it by yourself. It’ll be so much better than seeing it in theaters, but it’ll also make your night so much harder to sleep through.
